As COVID-19 Infections Rise, Face mask Mandates Decline

The number of new coronavirus cases is rising in more than one-half of the states. Including Michigan where new cases have jumped from a daily average of just over 1,000 to well over 7,000.

This increase is attributed to several factors. Including virus variants making strides. In fact, the UK variant is now the dominant coronavirus strain in America.

Another factor is pandemic fatigue. Some people are getting tired of being careful.

Health organizations say wearing facemasks helps limit the spread. Anything blocking airborne droplets from traveling from an infected person to a healthy person would logically help.

Yet 12 states have dropped their facemask mandates this year. Nearly another dozen never had facemask mandates.

In a moment I’m going to give you a current state-by-state look at these mandates. Then I’m going to provide you with a chance to voice your opinion on this subject.

No One-Size-Fits-All Mask Regulations

There are very few U.S. federal mandates for face mask wearing during this pandemic. Everyone is required to wear a face covering while using public transportation. And while inside public transportation hubs.

In addition, face masks are required for people when inside federal buildings and on all federal lands. Other than that, it is up to state governments to determine when and wear face masks are required.

Even in states with mandates, the details can differ significantly. Some require face coverings every time someone leaves their home. Others allow for exceptions based on social distancing protocols.

In a number of states where there is no state mandate, individual cities and counties may impose mask mandates. In no state are children under the age of 2 required to wear a mask, per the CDC.

What Do You Think?

As promised, here’s a chance for you to chime in.

Do you believe there should be a federal mandate requiring everyone to wear face masks in public?

Or do you believe this type of mandate should be left up to individual states?

Or do you believe there should be no face mask mandates anywhere in the U.S.?

I realize this subject can be controversial. It lends itself to strong opinions. But let’s be civil with our comments and respectful of others’ opinions. Hope to hear from you about this.

In my opinion we should not be forced into wearing a mask. There is not enough evidence that the benefits of wearing a mask outweigh the disadvantages and problems caused by wearing them. It is so sad to try and force all to wear masks without taking into consideration our rights and individual health issues that may prevent someone from wearing a mask. It is just wrong.

Health decisions should be left to the individual. We have never had to wear masks for any of our other pandemic/epidemics, because masks are ineffective for viruses. Common sense is not so common in these days, I then believe that the decision to mask should be left to the medical field professionals. (ie: virologists & immunologists) Never, should our government mandate anything having to do with squashing our rights and liberties. Masks decrease our natural immunities, we should be able to make our own decision to care for ourselves. Vaccines are not a fix in the middle if any pandemic as you can never keep up with the mutated strains. Just like the flu vaccine, the shot you get this year is for last years’ flu. This virus is not the strain that the vaccine is for and this vaccine is only being tested on the masses, as it hasn’t had enough time to prove effective.

No Mask! This plandemic has caused enough divisions in so many spectrums of our American Life, especially the children. Why would the plan be our children.. It takes 2 opposing sides to start a war….Mask vs. No Mask, Shot Volunteers vs non Shot Volunteers. Americans being divided by race via mainstream media (Tell-Lie Vision). Fake numbers, Fake news, fake people. I’m Done!

I am 65 and have COPD. Here in Southern California (I live in L.A. County), We still have to wear a mask in stores. I personally don’t do a lot of shopping. But, when I do I get pissed at the mandate. It should be left up to the individual. I can’t wear a mask over 10 minutes without having trouble breathing. I take 5,000 IUs of Vit D3, 2,000 mg Vit C, 1,200 mg Calcium, 50mg of Zinc per day. I eat well, get as much sleep as possible to equate to 7-8 hrs, and take Patriot Power Greens. I do not worry about getting sick. I get out and get “fresh” air by working in my yard. This is how I stay out of the hospital and keep from getting sick. The government should leave us to our own device. It’s all about control. They have proven they do not really care about “We the People”.

I believe it should be up to the state’s & the individual whether or not to wear a mask. Some people can’t because of health issues. It seems, however, that the state’s with the more strict guidelines are the ones with the heaviest cases, I believe because if this "heavy handedness " is why they had it worse than those that did not. & although I can’t prove it, I also think that part of it is from those states that had the most cases had the worse pollution. California has smog I’m sure New York doesn’t have the cleanest air either. I don’t know about the rest of the “big cities” in those states with the most #“s bit, I also believe by keeping a mask on & breathing in your own air is not healthy to begin with, most likely making it worse, (on top of all the pollution, in those BIG cities!” I have said it since the beginning, this was not a pandemic by any means!! I’m still waiting for 1917 #‘s!! We were no where near the death rate of those years during the great war!! The political system & the main stream press blew it waaay, waaay out of proportion!! Like they tried to do with H1N1 & that wasn’t a pandemic either. These people have no idea what a pandemic even is!! When you get sick one day & your dead the next followed by hundreds more every day practically, then THAT’S a pandemic!! So they should take their heads out of their a** , wake up & smell the coffee. It’s just another variant of the flu, more people died from other things in the last year than did from this “virus!” & in 1917 they didn’t shut down the country because if it, but they did for this nonsense! Yeah I feel badly that people died. We should protect the vulnerable & the weak, (something Cuomo & the other Democrat run states clearly didn’t believe in, & i think they did that so they didn’t have to pay put the social security anymore, after all the only thing their interested in is power & money) then everybody else could just go to work, not shut down. We shouldn’t even be doing business with China, they started it. They should pay for ALL the damages. So if we or other countries, tell China where to get off & don’t pay them back anything. I know this is more than you wanted from that question. I have so much more I could say, ( like stop paying federal taxes, seeing they can’t stick to a budget & over spend & give our $$ away to foreign lands & people), anyway those are my thoughts, like I say more than you wanted. Thank you for letting me get a lot of that out. I think most of us feel the same way. Take care out there.

There are people that follow the Fed blindly and do whatever they are told without question. Others get educated, do research, go into alternative news, find out what is really going on. These are the survivors, they prepare and know how to care for their bodies. About the coverup? Yes that is all it is. Unmask the coverup. To say it plainly I never did wear one even when the fear of many was high. I do not intent to start now.

Margaret Miller –
doctors did not wear masks all the time before this stupid virus! why should they for everyday medical visits? this virus is just a flu-like any other flu!

connie - April 27, 2021

the government needs to stay out of our lives! No Masks, NO Vaccines, NO Testing or quarantine needed! I believe you, all businesses, HOLLYWOOD, and all doctors need to do their part and stop pushing the MASKS/VACCINES, VACCINES PASSPORTS, and everything else the government and bad media are!
I will never wear a mask or get the vaccine, travel to any state or country that requires me to show my medical information!

Steve Houck - April 27, 2021

Freedom of choice, which of course has been lacking for the last year thanks to a particular group screaming from the rooftops, the sky is falling!

Richard Holder - April 27, 2021

No face mask mandates. Stop trampoline on my rights. If you want to wear one do it but don’t force healthy people to wear one to make others feel comfortable. The mask is just an illusion to make the paranoid freaks feel better about coming out in public. If your that scared stay your butt at home.
