As COVID-19 Infections Rise, Face mask Mandates Decline

The number of new coronavirus cases is rising in more than one-half of the states. Including Michigan where new cases have jumped from a daily average of just over 1,000 to well over 7,000.

This increase is attributed to several factors. Including virus variants making strides. In fact, the UK variant is now the dominant coronavirus strain in America.

Another factor is pandemic fatigue. Some people are getting tired of being careful.

Health organizations say wearing facemasks helps limit the spread. Anything blocking airborne droplets from traveling from an infected person to a healthy person would logically help.

Yet 12 states have dropped their facemask mandates this year. Nearly another dozen never had facemask mandates.

In a moment I’m going to give you a current state-by-state look at these mandates. Then I’m going to provide you with a chance to voice your opinion on this subject.

No One-Size-Fits-All Mask Regulations

There are very few U.S. federal mandates for face mask wearing during this pandemic. Everyone is required to wear a face covering while using public transportation. And while inside public transportation hubs.

In addition, face masks are required for people when inside federal buildings and on all federal lands. Other than that, it is up to state governments to determine when and wear face masks are required.

Even in states with mandates, the details can differ significantly. Some require face coverings every time someone leaves their home. Others allow for exceptions based on social distancing protocols.

In a number of states where there is no state mandate, individual cities and counties may impose mask mandates. In no state are children under the age of 2 required to wear a mask, per the CDC.

What Do You Think?

As promised, here’s a chance for you to chime in.

Do you believe there should be a federal mandate requiring everyone to wear face masks in public?

Or do you believe this type of mandate should be left up to individual states?

Or do you believe there should be no face mask mandates anywhere in the U.S.?

I realize this subject can be controversial. It lends itself to strong opinions. But let’s be civil with our comments and respectful of others’ opinions. Hope to hear from you about this.

I wear a mask where it is required for entrance. The minute I walk out the door of the establishment, off goes the mask, and I get to smile and greet others. I think government and media-generated fear has made otherwise free people buckle under the mandates and controls put on us and I think it’s way past time for each person to be able to choose how they want to live. I know there have been many deaths from this virus, but I wish the media had been open about the annual deaths from the flu – something that occurs every year but with life going on.

Jaime Fawcett does a great job of summing up the rationale (facts) for why mask mandates don’t offer a viable solution for preventing viral spread and are a bad idea.

I remember reading very early on, an “expert” in virology, responding to the question of why Asians, Chinese in particular, wear masks. He said, quite frankly, that masks serve little purpose other than a psychological sense of well-being. Based on the fear factor that has swept the US, it’s easy to understand how some people have accepted mandates without question, or reasoning. If people have a psychological need to wear one, why not? Other than that, masks are worthless and can be detrimental to well-being.

They have proven time and again that masks don’t work. In the 1917-1918 “pandemic”, mask wearing resulted in more deaths than the virus. When we people wake up? No masks needed anywhere and government control is just that…control!

Semantics is a big issue here. When CDC says the word “case” they mean a positive test. The number of positive test results is astronomically higher than the number of sick people. Do not conflate “case” with “illness”. There is a huge political component to the Covid19 issue. Some are deliberately trying to create fear and uncertainty when the factual (honest) statistics do not justify establishing or continuing such draconian measures. Paper mask are 100% useless again t something as small as a virus. 60% of the new “cases” of Covid19 are people who have received the vaccine. There is a massive false narrative at play. Exaggerating the danger of Covid19 creates the opportunity for huge amounts of money to be made, and nearly total control over The People. Very dangerous times? Yes! Dangerous because of a virus? No! Dangerous because of a hidden agenda and greed to make BIG money.

There should be NO requirement for masks anywhere. If a person chooses to wear one, wear one. People should research mask effectiveness and make their own conclusions. It should never be a state or government mandate issue.

We’re all having questions about masks. This is a new and horrible time and it’s all trial and error I believe masks are important around crowds and stores churches and take the vaccine if u are able. Children are now getting covid. Do what we can to protect

Jana - April 26, 2021

I do not support mask mandates of any kind. We have immune systems for a reason and they are useless as well. Please check out Natural News for some disturbing microscopy on masks and swabs posted by the Health Ranger Mike Adams.

Cynthia McDaniel - April 26, 2021

This plandemic is to control the human race – period! Even CDC admits there is not a pure sample of this man made covid. There are no flus, colds or other viruses reported. The word covid took their place. This is depopulation and control of everything we do. The tests, shots, and masks are all contaminated- read up on morgellons. The vaccine is unverified, not truly tested and is not a true vaccine. Many deaths will occur down the line. The shot nor the mask will not prevent you from getting covid or from others getting it from you. What have we done and when will people wake up? Do your research people! What is left of our freedoms is quickly going away. I am 71 years old and sure miss those freedoms. We are truly becoming Sodom and Gomorrah! Off my rant now with much more to say – wake up and God Bless everyone!

Holly - April 26, 2021

I think it should be up to individuals. If you want to wear a mask, go for it. If you don’t want to wear a mask, then don’t. I got covid from my Mom who is in a nursing home. I wore my mask to protect her. Mom ran a low grade fever for a couple of hours. It hit me like a truck. I believe when it’s your time to go nothing is going to stop it. Live your life. Be kind. Stay humble.

Caroline Mattila - April 26, 2021

I’m totally against mask mandates! It should be an individual choice not government choice! Not every one can wear them. I feel the whole mask thing is about control of the people! The flu particle is much smaller than smoke and the mask does not stop the smoke. So, what does that say about stopping the flu virus!
