As COVID-19 Infections Rise, Face mask Mandates Decline

The number of new coronavirus cases is rising in more than one-half of the states. Including Michigan where new cases have jumped from a daily average of just over 1,000 to well over 7,000.

This increase is attributed to several factors. Including virus variants making strides. In fact, the UK variant is now the dominant coronavirus strain in America.

Another factor is pandemic fatigue. Some people are getting tired of being careful.

Health organizations say wearing facemasks helps limit the spread. Anything blocking airborne droplets from traveling from an infected person to a healthy person would logically help.

Yet 12 states have dropped their facemask mandates this year. Nearly another dozen never had facemask mandates.

In a moment I’m going to give you a current state-by-state look at these mandates. Then I’m going to provide you with a chance to voice your opinion on this subject.

No One-Size-Fits-All Mask Regulations

There are very few U.S. federal mandates for face mask wearing during this pandemic. Everyone is required to wear a face covering while using public transportation. And while inside public transportation hubs.

In addition, face masks are required for people when inside federal buildings and on all federal lands. Other than that, it is up to state governments to determine when and wear face masks are required.

Even in states with mandates, the details can differ significantly. Some require face coverings every time someone leaves their home. Others allow for exceptions based on social distancing protocols.

In a number of states where there is no state mandate, individual cities and counties may impose mask mandates. In no state are children under the age of 2 required to wear a mask, per the CDC.

What Do You Think?

As promised, here’s a chance for you to chime in.

Do you believe there should be a federal mandate requiring everyone to wear face masks in public?

Or do you believe this type of mandate should be left up to individual states?

Or do you believe there should be no face mask mandates anywhere in the U.S.?

I realize this subject can be controversial. It lends itself to strong opinions. But let’s be civil with our comments and respectful of others’ opinions. Hope to hear from you about this.

I recieved a chart the other day showing new cases srare by state those with no mandates that is no requirement to wear a mask any time or place have less new cases than this states that do and the states with the most cases are the ones with the strictest rules.what does that tell you?

I do not believe the federal government or any state government officials has the right to impose any mask mandates or vaccine on the people. This is a form of control and it needs to stop. I agree if you are afraid then stay home.

The mask is a cover-up. Its efficacy is at best questionable—the whole SUSPICIOUS nature of this “plandemic” implies very treasonous “roots” rather than bats and other creatures of the night (non-human form anyway).

Flu cases have dropped to almost nothing—well, how surprising—they’re now classified as COVID-19?! There is a multibillion, hell, multitrillion dollar windfall to certain “beneficiaries” of the virus—beginning at the top with the “most popularly elected president in history,” the dynamic buffoon, Uncle Joe Biden, the harmless white man who manifested no “white privilege” I guess, as well as the likes of BLM, Antifa, the Deep Staters, et al on the Left.

Okay, IF the masks were other than mostly cosmetic, California would have the lowest incidence of the virus—The only ones apparently who do NOT show continuing infestation are the HOMELESS who obviously stay indoors and wear their masks religiously (well non-religiously since churches were off-limits), NOT!

The CENSORSHIP by the Techies has been UN-AMERICAN, PERIOD, EXCLAMATION POINT!

So, NO, I am NOT in favor of the “federal mask mandate” I guess

Any form of mandate by any level of government is a blatant abuse of power. Mandates are 100% unconstitutional and therefore legally not enforceable. The states that are doing the best are the ones that have absolutely no restrictions or mandates. The orwellian run states that unlawfully force mandates with the punishment of a fine or imprisonment have the largest spikes in infection. Since the flu pandemic 100 years ago, science has proven that viruses can only be treated, that there is no way to cure them. There are several types of flu shots available every year due to the fact that the flu mutates several times every year. Ultraviolet light from the sun is the only thing that kills a virus, other than disinfectant sprays which can’t be used in people. If it were possible to cure covid viruses, the common cold would be erraticated along with the flu and all the other covid strains. The only thing that all of this nonsense of making people stay at home closing the economy and having to not gather for anything, is that it has destroyed the economy bankrupted thousands of businesses and created a mental health crisis.

I believe forcing people to wear masks is for one reason, to break one’s will and individuality and depersonalize them. People become submissive! Without face, we don’t exist as independent beings. The mask is the beginning of deleting individualality. The idea behind all this nonsense is to control the people. This is as old as 2300 years. We need to stand up against this tyranny!

Michael Stein - April 26, 2021

People alone should be allowed to decide for themselves whether or not they want to wear a mask.

Margaret Miller - April 26, 2021

If masks do not work, why do all medical personnel use them? I would rather use this small inconvenience to protect others as well as me. Cases spike after times many gather closely together sans masks. With more folks vaccinated each month, the need for masks will diminish.

Paula White - April 26, 2021

I think it’s proven that face masks don’t work except for those who are taking care of Covid related sick patients. Some people struggle to breathe and causes some to have anxiety attacks. No children should ever be forced to wear them. It should be up to each individual’s discretion.

Larry Parks - April 26, 2021

There should be no mandates to wear a mask. There is no evidence the mask is effective in preventing the spread of COVID-19. Just like any virus if you’re sick stay home. The choice to wear a mask should be up to the individual and not any government mandate. Don’t be fooled into giving up your freedom!

Sharon W - April 26, 2021

I don’t think masks really help except for the n95 masks that the professionals use. I’d like to say let the individuals decide but there’s lots of people out there who just don’t use the common sense that God gave them. That’s fine for them, that’s their choice…but they also SHOULD think about how their behavior may affect others. That being said, it should be left up to the state govt & even further down to the local govts. Since the vaccinations are going up (I’m fully vaccinated), the requirements for masks should go down. I think of the covid as a really bad flu and I take the same precautions. I will wear a mask on the plane as a courtesy to others. I will wear a mask in a group setting or gathering if those I’m with feel more comfortable for me to do so. But it’s really time for demasking with common sense! Be respectful to others out there. Don’t blindly follow someone else’s “research” especially when there’s so much conflicting reports…do your own. Then do what your mind & heart tell you to do. But, again, think of others and don’t be reckless to prove a point. Just be a good responsible person and stay healthy & strong (drink your “Greens”). Let’s not fuel the flames of divisiveness that’s going on in our beautiful country over something like wearing or not wearing masks. We need more kindness in this country & putting others needs ahead of our own needs. Finally, we need to use discernment & not just blindly follow others who “think” they know more. May God Bless You All!
