Sunday Thoughts (forest bathing)
One time… I found this book called "Forest Bathing" and I couldn't help but picture people splashing around all together in a creek somewhere.
Turns out, you keep your clothes on. Which is what you should do if you spend any time in the woods — with all those mosquitos and ticks out there.
But the concept of "forest bathing" really just means getting reconnected to nature.
Disconnecting from the rest of the world, and just going for a good walk.
Or a wander…
With the sole purpose of experiencing the sights, sounds and smells around you.
We all know that getting out and enjoying God's beauty feels good. But they've actually measured this, and it's good for your health in ways you can test.
Blood pressure and pulse rates go down. You feel more vigorous, with less fatigue and anxiety… in ways that show up in your blood.
If you don't have plans, why not find some time today to take a walk in the woods or a park, or if you're so lucky, on the beach or by a lake.
It's a great way to shake off the dust, and set you up for the week ahead.
Just be sure to take something to keep those bugs at bay… or better yet something that ZAPs them dead!
I know Karen and I will be taking this on our next camping trip.
And yes, we'll be fully clothed.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.
God Bless,
