Sunday Thoughts (Happy Mother’s Day!)

Just a quick note today.

I’ve got a lot on my plate, prepping a nice day to celebrate the mom in this house (Karen) and taking the time to call my own mom too.

Because in case you haven’t heard, it’s Mother’s Day.

So if you’re fortunate enough to still have a mom to call, be sure to do it.

Now you know how I feel about these “Hallmark Holidays.”

Do we really need to designate a special day for moms, which seems like another commercial excuse to buy cards and gifts…

Or should we make a point of acknowledging all that moms do EVERYDAY, so they feel respected, appreciated and loved, all the time?

I think you know the answer.

And yet.

The hustle of life and the constant whirlwind we find ourselves in makes it easy to forget. To stop and take the time to truly express our gratitude.

And if at least one day on the calendar has us raising up the moms to their well-earned status, as the shapers of minds and builders of character,

The kiss on the scraped knee and the wiper of tears…

The worriers, the supporters, the saviors and the disciplinarians…

And the one person who always has your back, to celebrate the wins and ease the losses of life…

Then I guess I’m all for it.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there.

We’d be lost without you.

(My mom is quick to remind me of that, even now…).

Hi Jeff. Mother’s Day, it is wonderful to celebrate our moms. I’m a mom, grandma and a GREAT grandma, thanks to my son. I appreciate all of you who care so much about us by sharing with us your great “inventions”. Thanks again, and have a God bless Monday.

I bought your survival kits and stocked up when I started feeding Deputies. The Sergeant won’t allow me to feed them now because of the virus. I bought your portable distiller and setting up my house to sleep 6 Deputies in case of earthquake or storms. I have the generator.
God Bless you.
