Headaches + Massage?

One of the easiest ways to ruin my day is a spontaneous headache. I'm sure you're the same. Having a headache can keep us from focusing on what we're trying to do.

But did you know there's an easy way to help relieve headaches naturally? And it doesn't involve any pills, or other medicine. It's all about massaging the right pressure points.

So today, we're going to talk about 5 key areas of your body you can massage to help with everyday headaches. I'll also give you some tips on how to massage each one of them to help with headaches.

#1: Your Hand

The first pressure point we're going to talk about is in your hand. It's called Union Valley. You can find it between the base of your thumb and index finger. Who would've guessed that the hand can help relieve headaches?

You can massage this point to help relieve tension in the head or neck area. It can also help with anxiety & even headaches. To massage, apply firm pressure to the webbing between the thumb and index finger of your hand. Do this for about 4-5 seconds while taking deep breaths.

#2: Your Face

The next pressure points we're going to talk about are on your face. There are 2 of them here that I want to touch on.

The first is called your "Third Eye" and it's located right between your eyebrows. Massaging this point is as easy as you think. Place your index finger between your eyebrows & apply pressure for about 1 minute.

The next points are also found on your face. They're called "Drilling Bamboo." You can find them where the bridge of the nose hits your eyebrows. To massage, press both sides with your index fingers & apply pressure for 10 seconds.

#3: Your Ears

Believe it or not, your ears have pressure points as well. The most notable one is the ear gate. You can find it around the top of where your ear connects to your head. Applying pressure to this point can help with ear & jaw pressure. And a lot of times, that can help with headaches as well.

To massage, apply firm pressure with your index finger for about 10 seconds. You can do this on both sides, or only 1 if your headache feels heavier on one side of your head.

#4: Your Neck & Shoulders

There are 2 pressure points here you may be familiar with. The first one is called "Feng Chi" and you can find it where your skull connects to your neck. To massage it, apply some pressure with your thumb & hold for about 10 seconds.

The 2nd one is called Jian Jing. It's located at the top of your shoulders. Right around the base of your neck. You massage this one the same way you would Feng Chi. Once you do, you may feel relief from stress, muscle tension & of course headaches.

#5: Your Feet

We've stayed pretty high up on the body so far. Now, let's go all the way down to your feet. The pressure point I want to focus on here is called "The Moving Point." It's in a similar location to Union Valley. It's right in the webbing between your big toe & your second toe.

To massage, we're going to apply pressure on top of it with our thumb. Massaging this point regularly can help your liver function & even clear your sinuses. And like all the pressure points I've mentioned, it can help with everyday headaches.

Try out these pressure points the next time you have a headache. It could help you clear your head. Know any other good points? Leave a comment below letting me know your favorite.
