Your Phone Can Help Your Health

“Your phone is killing you!”

Have you heard this? I have. For at least the last 5 years. But I disagree. I think our phones get a bad rap.

Think about it. It’s not the phones themselves… It's how we use them. Young folks are especially bad at this. Study after study shows that social media is bad news. Yet they spend hours using their phones just for that. Is that the phone's fault? I don’t think so.

Instead, I think people should use their phones as tools to improve their health.

In fact, here are just a few apps you can start using today:

MyFitnessPal
This app helps you to track progress toward your nutrition, fitness, weight loss and water goals. This all-in-one food tracker and health app is like having a nutrition coach, meal planner, and food diary with you at all times!

Sleep Cycle
This alarm clock monitors your sleep patterns and gently wakes you up during your lightest sleep cycle, helping you to feel refreshed first thing in the morning. You can also track your sleep each night to find the right amount for you.

MyMoodTracker
Struggling with depression, anxiety, or irritability? This app keeps track of your shifting moods, as well as factors that may affect the way you feel, such as medications, sleep, and physical activity. The archived logs help you make mindful connections between what's going on in your life and how you feel.

See, there are plenty of easy ways to use your phone for good. If only we could convince the younger generations.
